One model, one history

How it works

Vitruvius is a desktop CAD with an agent beside the canvas. You draw as you always have. When you want help, you ask, and every change it proposes waits for your decision.

01

A project is a folder in the cloud

Each project holds the model, every file you drop in (DWG, DXF, IFC, PDFs, site photos, the brief), your renders, your sessions and the full version history. It saves as you work and opens on any computer you sign in on. Offline, you keep working on a local copy that syncs when you are back.

A short brief (client, address, budget, constraints such as “conservation area”) is read by the agent at the start of every session, so you never repeat yourself.

02

The canvas: 2D, 3D and walk

Walls with thickness, doors, windows, rooms with automatic areas, dimensions, text and layers. Typed coordinates and lengths, snapping, orthogonal lock and a measure tool. Levels for ground, first floor and loft. Flip to 3D for orbit and section cuts, or walk through at 1.6 m with the rooms labelled.

Keyboard first: every tool has a single-key shortcut, and the command bar (Ctrl/Cmd+K) takes “wall 3.2 m” as readily as a click. See the shortcuts.

03

The agent works in three modes

Plan
It writes out the steps first. Nothing happens until you approve the plan.
Ask
It makes changes one at a time, and each one waits for your OK.
Auto
It works on its own and saves a checkpoint after every step, so you can rewind.

In every mode, changes appear on the drawing in green (added) and red (removed) with Accept and Reject. Manual and agent edits share one history, tagged by author, and undo works on both. If you are halfway through drawing a wall, the agent waits.

04

Sessions keep the thread

A session is a conversation tied to one project: “rear extension options”, “planning drawings”, “client changes after the site visit”. Each one shows every change proposed, which you accepted, and the version each created. Questions are as useful as edits: minimum stair widths, why a room reads 11.8 m², a paragraph for the design and access statement.

05

Your files, in and out

Import DWG, DXF and IFC as an underlay or as elements; export DXF, IFC and PDF, with DWG export on Max. The original of every imported file is kept untouched. Details in file formats.
