File formats
Drop files into a project's Files folder or onto the canvas. The original of every imported file is kept untouched, and every export is a new version.
| Format | Import | Export | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| DXF (R12 to R2018) | As an underlay of lines, arcs and text on their layers, to trace over | R2018, with Walls, Doors, Windows, Rooms, Dims and Text layers | Ready |
| DWG (up to 2018) | Converted to DXF in our cloud, then as above | Converted from our DXF (R2000) | Import in beta; export experimental on Max |
| IFC 2x3 and IFC4 | Storeys, walls and openings where possible; the raw IFC can be viewed as a 3D underlay | Project, storeys, walls, doors, windows and spaces | Viewing ready; export basic |
| First page as an image underlay with scale calibration; text is read for the agent | Plan sheet PDF | Ready | |
| PNG, JPG | Underlay or attachment | View capture (PNG) | Ready |
DWG, honestly
DWG is a closed format. Complex blocks, xrefs, special fonts and objects created by plug-ins may not survive the round trip perfectly. After exporting DWG, open it in your usual CAD tool and check it before you issue it.
Calibrating a PDF underlay
Import the PDF, choose Calibrate, click two points whose distance you know and type the length in millimetres.
Limits and safety
Uploads are checked on arrival. Archives, executables and files with macros are refused. Pro allows files up to 200 MB.
